Katana Cartel are a hard-rock/heavy metal influenced group from Melbourne who like to rock out – Their riff-based, catchy, f...oot- tapping tunes will have you nodding your head in no time.
Katana Cartel was formed in 2012 by the two guitarists and key song-writers, Robert and Aidan. Fuelled by a mutual passion for classic heavy metal and hard rock the two began working on original material in Robert’s garage. The writing process, heavily influenced by classic heavy metal and hard rock is a fusion of Robert’s heavy metal-esque solid riffs and Aidan’s heavy yet soulful, bluesy-inspired overtones that combines together to create the bands amazing sound.
In the initial stages the line underwent numerous line-up changes. Katana Cartel were joined last year by John “JD” Price on drums, who brought a heavier-playing style to the band than previous drummers. “When JD played at the 1st audition” Rob mentions “and he let rip in the outro of King with his double kicks – the dynamic of our sound changed – we had finally found that heavier edge we were looking for”.
After struggling to find the right vocalist for the band, the line-up was solidified by the arrival of the current front man and bass player Steve, or “Fluffy” as he is commonly referred to by his fellow band mates. Aidan recalls “we searched for ages to find a singer with not only the right style but also the right persona for Katana Cartel – In Steve we have found a front man with not only an awesome, powerful voice but one who also oozes gravitas and stage presence”.
With the line-up solidified, the band have just released their 1st single, King, a sludgy-anthemic song with a thrashy outro bound to satisfy the head-bangers. A tour around regional Victoria is planned for the Spring of 2015 and further gigs planned for Melbourne later in the year.
As “JD” the drummer enthusiastically says “We just want to get out there and play gigs. With our 1st single under our belt and the line-up complete, we’re ready to rock out and have fun”.

DRUMS
This Drumming Machine is John, better Known as JD (John Drums). He Hails from England
& Plays with a Passion. His Drumming Ability is Un-heard of, Whether he plays Fast beats, slow beats or Insane beats, he also adds a huge Dimension to Katana Cartel's Sound. He never misses a beat & doesn't stop playing when he starts playing. Another key Member of the Band.

FLUFFY
VOCALS & BASS
This Man, with the Fluff is Steve, AKA Fluffy. He is the Voice & Bass of Katana Cartel. His Vocal range, His Interactions with the Audience is one of the Key Elements of Katana Cartel, Not to Mention that his Bass Playing is just as Exceptional. His Lyrics are great & so is his Personality. A great Frontman for the band. A Key Element to Katana Cartel.

ROCKIT
RHYTHM/LEAD GUITAR
His Nickname says it all, This is Rob, better Known as Rockit. His Guitar Ability is great & his Backing Vocals suggests that he can also sing. He loves his Fast, Thrashy, Riffy, Harmonic songs & doesnt mind a slow part either. He has the Fastest Right Hand Possible & Works great with the Band, particularly with Oomps (Aidan). He also Adds a Huge Dimension to Katana Cartel & is also a key Element to the Band.
